Founded in 1920 Robson Laidler is an award-winning accountancy, business advisory and wealth management firm that has offices in Newcastle upon Tyne and Chester-Le-Street. Our firm exists to “make a positive difference to people’s lives” demonstrated by our commitment to impact every person we come into contact with - our people, our clients, our community, our suppliers, our world.

Clients

Since we were founded in the 1920s, we’ve been working closely with the not-for-profit sector. We are members of the UK200 Charity Group, which whom we are recognised as providing the best practice in public sector reporting, training and other issues.

We offer the full range of accountancy services to our public sector clients, including audit, corporate tax, accounts preparation, payroll and VAT advice. We currently act for around 80 charities and public sector organisations from the smallest grant-making trust to more substantial organisations. Our experience in the sector covers diverse sectors, including The Arts, Sport, Youth, Housing & Special Needs, Care Homes, Attractions, Religious and Healthcare organisations.

Our not-for-profit and public sector team includes three qualified accountants (CA or ACCA) and a further team of 10 ACA or AAT assistants or trainees.

We recognise that for a charity or public sector company to hit deadlines for reporting they require their annual report and accounts to be prepared on a timely basis.  We therefore work with our clients to ensure our work can begin within a timeframe that suits their requirements. We aim for all assignments to be completed within 35 days of commencement.
