Traditional Rum Roots Meets Pure Devon Soul

Fuelled by a passion for life at sea and with a fresh take on the traditional art of rum blending, Hattiers sources fine aged rums from over 25 distilleries around the world including Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica and Australia. 

Their versatile and accessible blends consist of carefully selected rums that are incredible in their own right, made even better by their marriage with other rare and fine rums that would never usually meet, along with pure Dartmoor water at their blending house and distillery based on the Flete Estate in Mothecombe, Devon. 

Hattiers are proud to sell real, unadulterated rum that has not had colourants added to make their rums appear darker and they never add sugar, spices or flavourings to their blends. They also believe that full transparency is important and that people should know what they are drinking, which is why all component rums, countries of origin, ages and distillation methods are listed on the back label of each and every bottle.

 

The UK's First B Corp Certified Rum 

It is no longer enough for businesses to operate with a “business as usual” attitude and legislation cannot be relied upon alone to enforce policies on companies to operate more sustainably with people and planet in mind. 

Since our conception, Hattiers has existed as a benchmark of where we believe great rum should be, all while being uncompromising in our mission to use business as a force for good and we are proud to have been the UK's first B Corp certified rum. To receive certification we had to evidence our socially and environmentally responsible practices, legally embed our commitment to place purpose before profit into our company articles and more, but that is just the beginning.

We partner with organisations that share our values and work directly with non profits to deliver a greater impact for people and planet because we can do more together than we can alone. First, we donate 1% of all revenue through 1% For The Planet who are dedicated to tackling the most pressing environmental issues of our time across the world, focusing on six key areas: climate, food, land, pollution, water and wildlife. We have also partnered with Ecologi for a carbon positive workforce, removing hundreds of tonnes of carbon from our atmosphere in the process and fund gold standard certified climate solutions that have an immediate positive impact on the planet.

The B Corp mantra has been deeply instilled within our company from the very beginning and it encourages us to continually examine our practices, work proactively and make conscious decisions. We continue on our journey to reach net zero by or before 2030.
