From our head office based in the historic market town of Malmesbury, we have rapidly grown from an unknown name in the industry, to becoming an industry leader. Our client base is international and includes huge recognisable names from a wide variety of sectors. Our goal is to bring easy-to-use skills management tools and services to as many organisations as possible.
We have been established for over 15 years, and we specialise in providing SFIA-based services. For IT professionals, the ‘Skills Framework for the Information Age’ (SFIA) is now the globally accepted common language for the skills and competencies required in the digital world.
What we do
At Assess Management Ltd (trading as ‘ValidateSkills.com’), we are accredited SFIA Partners, Consultants, and Training providers. Our SFIA services are wide ranging and include: introductory SFIA training, job role mapping against SFIA skill codes, and our IT Skills Analysis (ITSA) tool which utilises an advanced self-assessment process.
Our services don’t end with SFIA. Through ValidateSkills we offer online assessment services, so that you can test the skills and knowledge of new applicants or existing employees. In the case of schools, colleges, or awarding organisations, your students or candidates can also benefit from its versatility. The results of the exams are automatically compiled providing data for closer analysis.

As an Accredited SFIA Training Partner, we deliver SFIA awareness training days which we can tailor to your organisation’s needs and deliver on your premises. We also run online ‘virtual’ training sessions for small businesses or individuals wishing to gain a better understanding of SFIA. Our approved SFIA Consultancy training day is the first step to becoming an accredited SFIA consultant and we deliver it online over two half-days, on a one-to-one basis or for small groups.

SFIA-based Assessments
Over the years we have curated a wide range of generic SFIA role profiles and assessments that are ready to go. You can opt in to receive these assessments with your account when you sign up.
These can help with the process of assessing your employees as you don’t have to build your own assessments. Instead you can rely on our expertise to get the job done.
You can of course build your own assessments and role profiles from scratch giving you all the customisation you may want. However our generic profiles serve as a fantastic baseline.
We also have thousands of SFIA-based questions in our database, written by subject matter experts covering most of the skill codes in the SFIA framework. These can be purchased and built in to your assessments quickly and cost-effectively, avoiding you having to go through the hassle of sourcing your own.
Question Building
All our application requires is the question content. We offer a number of question templates in our question build-area for you to write assessment questions. You set the instructions and the questions and answers required. Simply add your questions and set up the exam ready to deliver to your candidates or employees anywhere in the world.
Multiple choice, multiple response, weighted, yes-no, place in order, fill in the blanks, matching, drag and drop, exercise, free text responses, hotspots and even typing tests. These types of questions are available to include in any assessment offering a wide variety of challenges for the candidate.
Question references can easily be added to assist with version control. If you would like us to take care of the build for you, we would be pleased to discuss your requirements.
There is a facility to add images, positioned accordingly within a question, and upload scenarios within a PDF document that can be viewed within the related question.
Learning outcomes can be added to each question in order to indicate skills gaps and any further information to the candidates if they get the question wrong. Questions can be edited in real-time. If someone spots an error it can simply be edited and saved immediately.
Candidates
Registration can be handled in two ways: a self-registration page for candidates to enter their own information, or, if you wish to control the candidate registration information, there are facilities to manually enter details or bulk upload from a designed template.
Candidates are able to enter their own e-portfolio area where assessments are assigned and taken. The administration of each assessment will dictate what can and cannot be seen. For instance, the administrator may want to restrict the visibility of the results. They may also wish to allow additional documentation to be available for a particular assessment.
We also offer an additional service of a dedicated portal bypassing the ValidateSkills.com domain, allowing for a full branded experience.
