About Us

Selden Research Ltd develops and manufactures cleaning and hygiene chemicals for the professional end-user. Products are manufactured under the widely recognised and respected Jeyes Professional, Premiere and Selden brands, as well as private label. We also manufacture bespoke formulations, and pride ourselves on our ability to develop a wide range of industry-leading, high performance products.

Selden is an independent, family-owned company, established over 50 years ago. Located in the Peak District, the company takes its environmental responsibilities extremely seriously, and operates under a strenuous environmental policy, which includes the extensive use of solar energy.

Selden's modern 150,000 sq ft site features a bespoke tank farm, and outputs over 45m litres per annum. Selden's commitment to quality in all aspects of its business is demonstrated by significant investment in extensive on-site R&D facilities, with a state-of-the-art UKAS accredited laboratory, and accreditation to IPPC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001.

Selden is the UK’s largest independent manufacturer of specialised, high-performance cleaning and hygiene solutions for the professional end-user.

We are pleased to offer the UK’s first genuine closed-loop system for cleaning and hygiene products. The patented system, called the Solution, covers all key catering cleaning applications, including warewashing, surface degreasing and sanitising, floorcare and front-of-house cleaning.

Concentrated formulations are supplied in sealed drums, which prevents direct access by the end-user. Once the drum is empty, it is returned via the existing logistics chain to our factory where the drum is inspected, cleaned, refilled, resealed and sent back out.

The new and innovative Solution system is a giant step towards eradicating the use of single-use plastic containers in the cleaning industry, with the huge environmental benefits that will bring.

The system is also supported by our class-leading web-based training and education portal, CleanFM.
