CBI responds to launch of new Critical Minerals Strategy
CBI yesterday responded to launch of new Critical Minerals Strategy.
Rain Newton-Smith, CBI Chief Executive, yesterday said:
“Businesses will welcome today’s Critical Minerals Strategy, having long called for a joined-up, future-focused plan to secure the UK’s economic resilience. This ambition is essential to staying competitive amid intensifying geopolitical instability.
"A more resilient supply chain will strengthen national security and help attract investment into high-value sectors. By embedding this Strategy within a wider Industrial Strategy, firms will have the predictability they need to innovate, scale and anchor future technologies in the UK.
"Securing diverse global supply chains must also be a core pillar of a modern UK Trade Strategy, ensuring we can power the next generation of green and digital industries to compete confidently on the world stage.
"Turning ambition into action will require close partnership between the government and industry. The UK has the capability, but now we need collaboration to build a competitive critical minerals ecosystem that drives sustainable growth.”
