Chair of Regulatory Policy Committee - BEIS Committee publishes report following pre-appointment hearing

The Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee has today published a report following its pre-appointment hearing on Tuesday 9 March with the preferred candidate for the post of Chair of the Regulatory Policy Committee, Mr Stephen Gibson.

The Government announced Mr Stephen Gibson as their preferred candidate for the role on Thursday 4 March and, on the basis of the hearing, the BEIS Committee has endorsed his appointment.

The Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC) is an independent body, sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The RPC assesses the quality of evidence and analysis used to inform regulatory proposals set out by government departments.
