Does the record fall in net migration point to a sustained reduction?

As latest figures show a significant fall in net migration numbers, Open Europe's Aarti Shankar looks at the reasons for it and put things in perspective.

Latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures show that net migration to the UK fell by almost a third in the year since the Brexit vote. For the year ending (YE) June 2017 overall net migration stood at 230,000, down 106,000 from the previous year.
