FSA at the Government Chemist Conference on 13 and 14 June 2018

The Food Standards Agency is one of the sponsors of the 2018 Government Chemist Conference on food chain resilience in a changing world.

What are we doing

The FSA will be presenting work on Regulating Our Future – modernising food regulation in the UK. At this event, participants will learn how the Government Chemist and stakeholders make use of scientific progress and evidence based decisions to ensure the safety and authenticity of the food we eat, in an ever-evolving landscape.

The conference, organised by the Government Chemist, will take place on 13-14 June 2018 and will feature experts from government, industry and regulatory bodies discussing the challenges that face the food sector.

About the conference

The UK Government Chemist has a history dating back to 1842. Its role is to resolve scientific disputes mainly in the food and feed sectors, give advice to regulators and industry, and carry out research. The Government Chemist conference is held every two years to share scientific knowledge and best practice with scientists, regulators, enforcement agencies, industry and policy makers who are responsible for making measurements or using measurement data.
