Four more men charged over ‘Mexican’ meth conspiracy plot
Four men will appear in court charged in relation to the alleged production of meth – after five Mexican men were charged as part of the same National Crime Agency investigation last month.
All four men will appear at court tomorrow morning (Saturday).
They are all accused of conspiracy to produce methamphetamine, a Class A drug.
Those appearing at Teeside Magistrates’ Court are: Kenneth Burton, 34, of The Meadows, Wynyard, Co Durham; Paul Harkness Mawby, 34, of Pacific Drive, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, and Anthony Devine, 34, of Crosswell Park, Ingleby Barwick.
Mohammed Khan, 36, of Lea Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.
It is alleged the men were part of a crime group manufacturing the drug at a meth lab on remote farmland near Furnace End in Warwickshire.
Yesterday (Thurs 22 Oct), NCA officers, supported by partners from Cleveland Police and West Midlands Police, arrested the men and conducted at a series of searches in Birmingham and the North East.
The NCA investigation was also supported by the US Drug Enforcement Agency.
