General Election 2017 manifesto round-up

Blog posted by: Paula Reid, Thursday, 18 May 2017.

Ahead of the election, we have produced a summary of the manifesto commitments of the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats in policy areas relevant to our members and the people they support.

We are pleased to see a commitment to ending rough sleeping across the manifestos, something Homeless Link called for alongside the wider homelessness sector when the election was first announced. It is important that an ambitious new national strategy is implemented to prevent people from sleeping rough and providing a robust response to get people off the streets and ensure that they do not return.

We hope the round up, available to download below, will be useful for services and staff as they carry out demographic engagement activity with their service users, as well as when planning their own work.

Please note this is a summary and does not cover all the policies the parties have put forward – for more details, please see the links we have included to the individual manifestos.
