NHS Confederation: Non-executive community to explore ‘different take’ on statutory responsibilities

Non-executive members of both provider and commissioning organisations are set to gain a fresh perspective on how to meet their statutory responsibilities, as an event in November turns the spotlight on social value, sustainable development and local growth.

Hosted by the NHS Confederation and Sustainable Development Unit, Looking to the future will explore why changes in policy, governance and the fiscal context of place-based working have placed a new imperative on social value, sustainable development and local growth.

It comes as chairs and non-executives increasingly feel they have a specific role to play to help boards and CCG governing bodies understand how sustainability can be a core dimension of quality in their own organisations, the local health and care system more and the wider economy.

The free event, taking place on Friday 2 November in London, will present how leaders are involved in promoting the social, financial and environmental sustainability of their local health systems.

Sharing practical examples of how to prioritise and measure progress in sustainability and delving into the legal basis for change, the meeting aims to support non-executives to develop sustainable local health systems.

If you are a chair, non-executive director or CCG lay member, book your place today.
