New HM Inspector announced

The Home Office yesterday announced the appointment of Andy Cooke as one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Constabulary and Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Fire & Rescue Services.

Andy Cooke will be primarily responsible for the inspection and other work of HMICFRS in relation to the northern region.

Sir Thomas Winsor, HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary, yesterday said:

“My fellow HMIs, our chief operating officer and I are delighted to welcome Andy Cooke to HMICFRS. Andy brings with him a wealth of experience that will be vital in promoting improvements in policing and fire and rescue services.”
