Discussions are underway to explore a pilot sandwich placement scheme in procurement departments across the Welsh public sector.

Students in the third year of their Logistics and Supply Chain Degrees at the University of South Wales will be involved in the scheme. We will be supporting the placement of up to 5 students in procurement departments in Welsh public sector organisations and within Welsh Government. The scheme will be for a fixed period, to work on particular projects that complement their studies.

We will be funding the employment costs for each student for the fixed period. Following graduation, and subject to performance during placement, we may offer the opportunity to return on part time arrangements for a fixed period. This will help graduates retain skills and grow the commercial capacity across the Welsh procurement community. This opportunity should provide the students with enough experience to be able to secure permanent posts across the public sector.
