Supporting neighbourhood policing week of action
Neighbourhood policing week of action (15-19 June 2026) is an opportunity to recognise the vital contribution neighbourhood policing teams make in tackling local crime and anti-social behaviour across England and Wales. Marking the start of the week of action, APCC Joint Leads on Local Policing, Chris Nelson and Matt Storey, recently said:
“Good local policing is the foundation on which all policing is built. The work of neighbourhood officers, Police Community Support Officers and volunteers who know and understand their communities is key to effective prevention and investigation of crime. Police and Crime Commissioners and Deputy Mayors act on behalf of the public which is why local policing is central to Police and Crime Plans across England and Wales.
“High-quality, visible community-based policing is fundamental to improving public safety and rebuilding public trust, and we are pleased to support this week of action to highlight the value of neighbourhood policing in keeping the public safe.”
