TDS reassures members after office blaze

The Tenancy Deposit Scheme has reassured customers all staff are safe and all data secure, following a blaze at its Hemel Hempstead offices.

Crews were called to the block which houses TDS and other firms yesterday afternoon and evacuated all staff.

The firm, which provides the RLA’s Depositguard service has reassured customers all key website services are secure and operational with no data loss and that phone and email services will be back up and running in the coming days.

The firm is now organising temporary offices, with staff currently working from home.

A TDS spokesperson said:

“A major fire broke out at TDS’ headquarters in Hemel Hempstead. All staff were safely evacuated and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended.

“TDS’ business continuity plan has been activated and staff are working towards making phone and email services available in the coming days.

“All data is backed up off-site and the company is confident that there has been no loss of customer data. TDS has planned and drilled for scenarios such as this and thanks its customers for their patience.”

The RLA will update members as and when we have more information. Keep an eye out here and on our social media channels.
