Tom Lovell is named today as the new Managing Director Tech Partnership Degrees, effective 7th September 2020.

Phil Smith CBE, Chair of Tech Partnership Degrees said:

Following early roles managing small charity operations, Tom has held very broad ranging roles in Reed, developing particular expertise in working with employers and education. He created the technology-based graduate recruitment service which developed to become reed.co.uk and, as Education Director in Reed Learning, was responsible for employability training and services for schools and colleges. His interest in addressing employers’ digital skills needs included developing the Reed Technology business, addressing emerging markets including Cybersecurity and IT consultancy. Over the past 13 years, Tom has held the roles of Group MD, UK MD and Global MD of Reed Specialist Recruitment Ltd with responsibility for 2,000 people generating £1bn of revenue a year. 

Commenting on his new role, Tom explained:

Digital skills have never been more important for individuals and for organisations, and this unique role brings together my passion for helping people fulfil their potential with my career-long interests in technology, education and helping businesses grow. I am excited to be leading this small organisation with a big remit and massive opportunity to make a difference.” 

Tech Partnership Degrees is a not-for-profit organisation which brings together employers and Higher Education Institutions to strengthen the flow of talent into digital careers.  As announced on 1st July 2020, it will become a wholly owned subsidiary of techUK on 1st October 2020. Tom will be accountable to the Board of Tech Partnership Degrees and a member of the techUK Senior Management Team.
