Wales: Inquiry into impact of coronavirus launched

The Equality, Local Government and Communities Committee has launched a new inquiry looking into the impact of coronavirus on a number of different areas, including housing.

The consultation is also gathering views on the response to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

According to the National Assembly for Wales website, there is no fixed deadline to submit views to the consultation, so those who are interested in contributing are advised to do so as soon as they are able to.

The consultation can be accessed online here, and NRLA Wales will also be making a formal response.

Covid-19: NRLA Wales campaigning

NRLA Wales recently called for more support for landlords in Wales during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It comes as grants of up to £10,000 have been offered to businesses running holiday lets in the country, while the private rented sector has been ignored. In this blog, NRLA Wales policy officer Tim Thomas writes about the latest calls for a level playing field.

Advice and guidance for landlords in Wales

Landlords can also read guidance published by the Welsh Government recently, and members can listen back to a webinar hosted by NRLA Director Douglas Haig on the very latest information on NRLA campaigning in Wales, and advice on managing a letting business during Covid-19. Catch up here.
