What makes a 'good' Digital Board? - Project Description

We are looking for members to contribute to a project aimed at Local Governments' digital leadership.

Cross-programme project to unpack what makes a 'good' Digital Board kicks off next week.

A significant aspect of techUK’s Smart City work for 2018 is focused on the practical steps to deliver smart city solutions at the local level. Key to this will be driving demand side maturity for adopting smart city applications and solutions, supporting local authorities to build capacity as the implementers of these initiatives across the UK.

The Smart Cities & Communities work stream of the SmarterUK programme, in conjunction with the Local Government programme is undertaking a project to outline what makes a ‘good’ Digital Board – specifically regarding the suggested make-up and terms. The output of this project will be a practical and action-oriented paper.

techUK members will have an opportunity to join the Working Group - the primary provider of information for the report which will be written by techUK.

The report will be validated by an Advisory Group, made up of stakeholders from local authorities around the UK.

Key Project Dates include:

  • Monday 12 March  – Thursday 22 March: Applications open for Expressions of Interest to join the member-sourced Working Group
  • Friday 23 March: Confirmation of Working Group
  • Friday 20 April: Digital Board Workshop at techUK

The report is due to be launched in May.

If you have any questions, or would like to know more about the project, please feel free to contact Jessica Russell, Programme Manager | Transport And Smart Cities
