LGA response to government consultation on supported housing

On Thursday 16th April, the Government has published its consultation on supported housing.

Responding, Cllr Sue Woolley, Deputy Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Committee, said: "We are pleased steps are being taken to reform supported housing, which is a vital safety net for individuals with complex needs, a lifeline service enabling people to live independently and helps prevent homelessness and reduce hospital admissions.

"Councils need long term sustainable funding to boost supply of supported housing through commissioning, and to ensure implementation of licensing schemes and adequate enforcement of standards."
