YPO saves customers £12 million on stationery
Public sector schools saved £12million last year by choosing YPO’s own‑brand stationery products instead of branded alternatives, helping them stretch increasingly tight budgets and reinvest savings where they matter most.
YPO analysis shows that, in 2025 alone, customers achieved significant cost reductions by switching to YPO‑branded stationery. Three schools recorded the highest savings.
Leeds East Academy saved £26,814 through selecting YPO-branded stationery.
The two other schools and academies with higher product savings were Co-Operative Academy of Manchester, which saved £21,216 and Seaham High School, which saved £12,900.
The £12 million figure is based on YPO research conducted over the past year.
This research compared YPO-branded stationery products with equivalent branded alternatives available on the market.
The findings revealed how much customers have saved by purchasing YPO stationery products instead of branded equivalents.
The £12m saving breaks down into 114 everyday stationery products. This included everything in a school, from glue sticks, pens, and pencils to highlighters, refillable whiteboard pens, and sticky notes.
YPO is 100% publicly owned and operated on a not-for-profit basis, established to deliver value for money to the public sector and maintain pricing stability in changing climates.
As a leading educational supplier for more than 50 years, YPO prides itself on offering a wide range of high‑quality products that support children at every step of the way.
By choosing to purchase through YPO, schools and academies can stretch budgets further and invest in more support for pupils' learning, such as SEND products and adjustments.
Offering better value for money to customers is at the heart of the Wakefield-based organisation’s mission, as all profits made are returned to the public sector.
Simon Hill, YPO’s Managing Director, yesterday said:
“With budgets getting tighter, our YPO products allow our customers to spend money on more meaningful products which enhance children's learning and education.”
“YPO is proud to offer schools significant savings without compromising on product, performance or quality.”
Schools using YPO products have already seen the benefits. Castleford Park Junior Academy, which uses YPO for its stationery and SEND products, said: “YPO products are the best value and quality.”
Next month, YPO will showcase its latest product range and expertise at the Schools and Academies Show (SAAS) on 7 May in London.
