The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Peter Hain said:
"Sir Richard is a highly competent chairman of SSAC and I am pleased that he has agreed to serve for a further term".
Sir Richard said:
"It has been a privilege to work with the SSAC in providing independent scrutiny and advice on a range of important issues in the social security sphere. I look forward to continuing in my role as Chairman for the next three years."
