Appointment of District Judges - George and Clarke

HM The Queen has appointed Lindsey Ruth George to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Jack Straw MP. The Right Honourable The Lord Judge, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales has assigned her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Reigate County Court with effect from Monday 1 March 2010.

HM The Queen has appointed Helen Margaret Clarke to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Jack Straw MP. The Right Honourable The Lord Judge, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales has assigned her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Worthing County Court with effect from Friday 12 March 2010.

Notes to Editors

Miss George is aged 47. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1987 and was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2005.

Ms Clarke is aged 44. She was called to the Bar (M) in 1988. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2005 and as a Lawyer Chairman of the Rent Assessment Panel in 2006.
