Appointment of Six Salaried Judges of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support)
The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Jack Straw MP, has appointed Lisa Maria McDonald, Jane Angela Talbot, Victoria Jane Woollen, Robert Hodgson Good and Carmel Miriam Wall to be Salaried Part-time Judges of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support) and David St John Jackson to be a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support).
Miss McDonald will be assigned to the South East Region and based in Ashford, working on a 60% pro rata basis, with effect from 28 September 2009, Ms Talbot will be assigned to the South East Region and based in Central London, working on a 80% pro rata basis, with effect from 28 September 2009, Mrs Woollen will be assigned to the South East Region and based in Sutton, working on a 60% pro rata basis, with effect from 1 October 2009, Mr Good will be assigned to the North East Region and based in Middlesbrough, working on a 60% pro rata basis, with effect from 2 November 2009 and Mrs Wall will be assigned to the Central Region and based in Birmingham, working on an 60% pro rata basis, with effect from 2 November 2009. Mr Jackson will be assigned to the Central Region and based in Birmingham with effect from 2 November 2009.
NOTES TO EDITORS Lisa Maria McDonald is 47. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1986. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2002.
Jane Angela Talbot is 52. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1989. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Lawyer Chairman of the Rent Assessment Panel in March 2002 and as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in June 2002.
Victoria Jane Woollen was admitted as a Solicitor in 1983 and was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 1997.
Robert Hodgson Good is 54. He was admitted as Solicitor in 1994. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber) in February 2002 and as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in June 2002.
Carmel Miriam Wall is 45. She was called to the Bar (L) in 1986. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Tribunal (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2001 and as a Deputy District Judge in 2006.
David St John Jackson is 43. He was admitted as Solicitor in 1991 and was appointed as a Fee-paid Lawyer Chairman of the Rent Assessment Panel in 2004.
