Mr Peter Gooderham CMG has been appointed the United Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and World Trade Organisation in Geneva, in succession to Mr Nicholas Thorne CMG, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Gooderham will hold the personal rank of Ambassador and will take up his appointment in April 2008.
