CHILD SEX OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS IN NORTH WALES
Jonathan Lindsay was last week sentenced to 14 years for offences against children following a joint investigation by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre and North Wales Police. Lindsay was brought to justice through the partnership working and determined efforts of North Wales Police and the CEOPs Victim Identification Team.
Ruth Allen, Head of Specialist Operational Support at the CEOP Centre said:
“There is no worst form of image than a picture or video of a child being abused. That is not pornography as some people will label it. It is a crime scene and as such can and does provide vital clues that ultimately as today shows can lead to the safeguarding of a child and the arrest and conviction of an offender. Every offender out there should look at this result and think again. We will track you and you will be brought to account.”
Chief Inspector Iestyn Davies of North Wales Police said,
“ Our joint investigation in relation to the activities of Lindsey was focussed and robust. Some excellent policing by the officers who initially dealt with Lindsay identified a number of suspected offences which were diligently investigated leading to a number of charges. The evidence against him was compelling and the sentence recognises the severity of his offending “
