Event: The Data Ask - Startups in Intelligent Mobility

Intelligent mobility is meant to bring about seamless travel; data infrastructure is crucial to this vision, as are a number of new startups and other enterprises complementing large, traditional transport providers. 

This is the first of three pilot events to test the wider interest for a London-based industry innovation network focused on intelligent mobility. The idea behind the network is to enhance mobility for London and beyond by improving the impact of innovators. 

The event will explore the kinds of data that startups need to deliver on the intelligent mobility promise and learn more about the issues facing data holders. It will start with a panel discussion featuring to startups and two data holders, followed by refreshments and three interactive sessions lead by experts where attendees are able to share their own views.

  • Alex Wrottesley, Head of Geovation, Ordnance Survey's Open Innovation Hub
  • Nick Wilson, Information Strategy, Customer Portfolio Directorate, Rail Delivery Group
  • Chair: Ann Thorpe, UCL Transport Institute

Expert-led Interactive Session topics:

  • Testbeds - what data infrastructure would be great?
  • Data Formats - preferred structures and methods?
  • Current data landscape - what's available, biggest gaps?
