Joint statement by the DExEU and the EC.
The following joint statement was yesterday issued by the Department for Exiting the European Union and the European Commission:
"Michel Barnier, the European Commission's Chief Negotiator, and David Davis, Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, agreed today to launch Article 50 negotiations on Monday, 19 June."

On 19 February 2018 the Council decided on a recalculation of the sugar production levies for the years 1999/2000 & 2000/2001. The objective of the adopted regulation is to comply with a judgment of the ECJ from February 2017, which ruled that the production levies for the sugar sector between 1999 & 2001 had been wrongly calculated, resulting in sugar producers being over-charged.

Outbreaks of lumpy skin disease (LSD) in the Balkan region fell dramatically by 95% from 7,483 in 2016 to 385 in 2017. The figures confirm that vaccination of cattle – recommended by EFSA in 2016 – is the most effective way to contain the disease.
