Chatham House is pleased to announce that Lord Hammond of Runnymede is joining our Panel of Senior Advisers.

The Panel of Senior Advisers was founded in 2008 to provide the institute with an experienced sounding board for its research and policy conclusions and help communicate its ideas internationally.

Lord Hammond brings to the panel, and to Chatham House, his experience at the highest levels of the UK government, having served as Secretary of State for Defence, Foreign Secretary, and Chancellor of the Exchequer between 2011 and 2019.

In addition to the wealth of insights this experience will offer the institute, Lord Hammond will contribute to Chatham House’s work on reforming international governance, including a project developing proposals to help revive and strengthen international economic cooperation in 2021 and beyond.

Creon Butler, Director of Chatham House’s Global Economy and Finance Programme, is leading the institute’s research on the evolving global economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the future of international economic cooperation.
