MOD update on DEFNET External Access
Communications for Industry Partners & MOD Disadvantaged Users
techUK has been asked to circulate the letter below to members of the techUK Defence Community:
The DEFNET External access project which is providing access to DEFNET for Industry Partners and MoD Disadvantaged Users will be looking to go-live with two Design Patterns from the 18th May.
The Beta phase which was conducted in March was able to successfully test two of the architectural design patterns to enable progression of these to go-live once approval is gained from the authority. However, due to the current impact with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the project team are unable to conduct any further beta testing with our User Groups as this is conducted on site. Further discussions will be taking place to explore potential testing opportunities to progress the necessary testing that is required.
The initial go-live will be for the Internet Accredited Gateway Design Pattern and a specific design pattern for one of our MoD Disadvantaged User Groups.
Please note that Industry Partners will be unable to connect over the Boundary Protection Service (BPS) until re-baselined dates have been provided. The project team will provide more information regarding the roll-out plan and dates once these have been provided
Further information in regards to the design pattern and process for requesting accounts will be released shortly.
