UK Procurement Reform update

The Procurement Bill received its first and second reading in the House of Lords recently.

The Procurement Bill received its first and second reading in the House of Lords recently. The next stage in the legislative process is the Lords Committee, which is due to start the week commencing 4 July. You can find the bill, explanatory notes and other accompanying documentation on the Parliamentary website. Any changes made to the bill as it progresses further through Parliament will be available here.

Legislative Consent Memorandum (LCM) has also been laid before the Senedd, giving Senedd Members an opportunity to scrutinise the bill.

The bill will take several months to complete its passage through Parliament and the Senedd. The new regime will not go live until late 2023 and we expect the implementation period to take at least 6 months.

Comprehensive guidance, support and training will be developed. There will be an opportunity for stakeholders to provide input to the guidance and training, and we will provide further details in due course.

As part of this process, our Procurement Reform team will continue to run a series of online webinars as the Bill progresses through the legislative process.
