techUK response to Prime Minister's resignation
techUK CEO Julian David responded to the Prime Minister's resignation statement
“techUK thanks the Prime Minister for her dedicated service and diligent work throughout her tenure. While Brexit has undoubtedly been the defining issue of her premiership, her Government has also led progress on some critical issues for the UK tech sector, from putting AI at the heart of its Industrial Strategy to working to ensure that all young people have access to the digital skills they need to succeed.
“The Prime Minister is also right to recognise that the challenges posed by Brexit will not change with a new Prime Minister. Compromise will still be needed if we are to avoid a disorderly and damaging exit from the European Union. techUK looks forward to engaging with all of the leadership candidates as they build their manifestos to ensure that digital is at the heart of their visions for the future of our country.”
