FDA calls for pay reform at NCA

The FDA has published its evidence to the National Crime Agency's Pay Review Body, calling for a pay rise for NCA staff and for a quicker pace of pay reform.

The FDA, which represents senior managers and leaders in the NCA, has also called on the Agency to reflect on the lessons learned about flexible working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and how this can be reflected in the overall reward package, and to consider a means to compensate staff for excess hours worked.

FDA National Officer for the NCA, Wynne Parry said:

“The government has failed to justify the public sector pay pause in its evidence to the Pay Review Body. FDA members in the NCA have worked extraordinarily hard throughout the pandemic and deserve to be properly rewarded for those efforts.

“While we recognise the efforts made by the NCA on pay reform, too many staff are yet to see any tangible benefit and continue to see no real improvement on pay progression. We have therefore urged the Pay Review Body to recommend a consolidated salary increase for NCA staff, alongside genuine progress on pay reform and a fresh approach to flexible working.”

The FDA will be giving oral evidence to the Pay Review Body on Wednesday 5 May.
