NHS Digital scoops Digital Leaders 100 award
NHS Digital scooped a top innovation award at the Digital Leaders 100 awards recently (21 June 2019).
The National Record Locator team swept home in the Public Service Innovation of the Year category, narrowly scooping the gong ahead of NHS Digital’s NHS111 online team.
The service has been set up to allow clinicians and NHS organisations securely locate and access patient records across the healthcare system.
Already it has been used in ambulance services and mental health trusts to help paramedics better treat people who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
Hadleigh Stollar, National Record Locator programme head, recently said:
“I am incredibly proud of the team that has worked tirelessly to make this happen.
“The hard work that has gone into developing the National Record Locator has had a real positive impact of frontline staff and patients, all who benefit from better clinical decision-making thanks to the ability to make better and richer patient information to those at the forefront of delivering care.
“Well done and congratulations to all the team who have helped make this happen.”
Andrew Meyer, Director of the NHS Digital Delivery Centre, recently aid
"The National Record Locator has the ability to be transformational in helping patients receive the right care, at the right time, regardless of care setting.
“I am very proud of my team, both in Integrating Care and in the Digital Delivery Centre technical team who did an incredible job in bringing this technology and the pilot with the Ambulance Services and Mental Health Trusts to fruition.
“This win is testament to their hard work and commitment".
