NEPO supports digital library provision during COVID-19

NEPO418 Library Books and eBooks provides libraries across the UK with a range of fiction and non-fiction books, eBooks, DVDs and Blu Rays.

Bolinda UK Ltd supplies eBooks and eAudiobooks to NEPO’s members through their BorrowBox digital platform, a service that has experienced growing demand in response to COVID-19.

Hayley Higgins, Sales Manager from Bolinda has described the impact on eBook provision:

“COVID-19 has created an unprecedented demand for digital library services. At Bolinda, we have seen an 80%+ increase in downloads of the BorrowBox app used by library customers to access eBooks and eAudiobooks.

“The libraries using NEPO418 have experienced a total increase of 145% in eBook loans. Similarly eAudiobook loans have almost tripled, to over 122k, during the period March and October 2020.

“We are proud to support local authorities in delivering this vital service to their communities.”

Adrienne Bishop, Category Specialist at NEPO, added:

“NEPO has supported its members in delivering a digital library service during COVID-19. An especially popular aspect of Bolinda’s eBook service is the CampaignTitles feature which offers multiple loans of select tiles every month. This helps local reading groups to access popular titles, in turn supporting valuable opportunities to connect with others online and share reading experiences.”
